This is the best time of year to photograph large bull elk in Boxley Valley. I’ll be making many trips to this are in the next few weeks to photograph the annual rut that takes place here. Below are two of my favorite images from today.

I just returned from Ponca, AR where I photographed elk this afternoon. The light didn’t cooperate with me like I wanted it to but I did manage to get some shots of the big bulls in the area. The calf shot below is my favorite from the day.
