In the past few weeks, I’ve tried to carve out some time to go out with friends and photograph wildlife. Here are two of my favorite photos that I shot yesterday at Riverview Park in Dardnelle, Arkansas. The white pelicans fly up to the dam and float downstream in the river in order to attempt to catch fish. Whever they see the gulls dip down for a fish and they are close, they try to awkwardly fly over and steal the fish away. Most of the time the gulls are so quick that the pelicans cannot grab the fish. The only time the pelicans really win out is whenever the gulls fight over the shad or the fish is too big for the gulls to pick up.
