I had the wonderful joy of photographing a surprise proposal today at Burns Park in North Little Rock, AR. I’ve always wanted to do this, but it’s not something that many guys think of to do. I was super excited when Mark contacted me last week to get everything set up for capturing the proposal this afternoon. We originally talked about doing it last night, but the plans fell through so we rescheduled for this afternoon.
Mark wanted to propose near the covered bridge at Burns Park because this is one of the first places that he and Brittney traveled to when they first met. The scheme we cooked up involved Mark telling Brittney that he was going to meet a guy at the parking lot of the covered bridge to see about buying a bike. As Brittney & Mark arrived, my assistant and I were pretending to photograph birds near the location where Mark wanted to propose. When Brittney and Mark made it to the spot, Mark asked if I would take a picture of them with his phone. I pretended to fumble around and eventually told him that I couldn’t figure out how to use his phone and kindly offered to take a picture of them with my camera. 🙂 As you look through the photos below, you’ll see the first regular pretend shot and several others leading up to his proposal. He said a lot of kind words, dropped on one knee, and she said yes! Afterwards, we decided to do a real quick engagement shoot around the bridge.
Thank you so much Brittney and Mark for asking me to capture such a special moment in your lives. It was truly an honor. Congratulations!
