I had a great time leading the 2010 Little Rock Worldwide Photo walk today. Over 30,000 photographers from around the world went on various walks around the continents on July 24, 2010. We had 30 local photographers participate. Our beginning point was the President Clinton Library and our ending point was the Junction Bridge. I had a great time helping others set up shots and we met some really awesome people along the way. Thanks so much to everyone for coming out on this 100 degree day! I had an awesome time and I can’t wait to do it again real soon. Here are 50 shots from the walk. Too much snow/sleet/ice/rain…

We’ve been hit hard in central Arkansas as a snow/sleet/ice/rain storm has been pounding us for the past 12 hours. A few minutes ago, I heard lots of car alarms and noises outside and then someone knocking at my door to tell me the awning has fallen on top of the vehicles in my apartment complex. Luckily, my SUV was parked in a different location and was not affected by this accident.

Here are 25 of my favorite images from 2009! It was a very busy year for me. In January, I traveled to Iowa to photograph bald eagles in below zero weather. It was super cold, but I got some great shots of our national bird.

In July, I took a month off to photograph out west. I spent time photographing in the following states: Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri. I learned a hard lesson while out there though…always back up your images. I lost over 800GBs worth of pictures when a hard drive I had stored them on crashed the last day of my trip. The only images I have from the first 3/4s of the trip are 28 that I posted to Facebook. I lost all of my images from Great Sand Dunes National Park, Grand Tetons National Park, Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park. My advice to anyone who is taking a big trip…take backup hard drives. I tried to save some money by just using one hard drive and it cost me 1000s of images.

In October, I had the pleasure of photographing Sarah & Brent’s wedding at Ocean Lodge in St. Simons Island, GA. We took some great shots there and then went for a day after/trash-the-dress shoot at Jekyll Island with a couple of their friends and had a lot of fun. Most of my favorite wedding images from the year come from that shoot!

I had a great year in 2009 and I can’t wait to see what opportunities present themselves in 2010. I’ve already booked quite a few weddings for next year, and I’ve had some great meetings with potential clients this week. Happy New Year to all my old and new friends. I wish you all a blessed and joyous 2010!

2010 Southern California Tide Calendar

I just got several copies of the 2010 Southern California Tide Charts Calendar in the mail today. I was fortunate to have one of my images featured inside the calendar.

A few years ago, I took a month-long roadtrip across the country. I camped out for most of the trip in national and state parks. Eventually, I made my way to Los Angeles to visit a couple of friends. While there, I enjoyed several days of photography along the coast. The image you see below of the kite surfer was taken near Malibu. It is April’s featured photo.

Garvan Woodland Gardens – Lights on the Landscape

I had the pleasure of leading a group of photographers on a photography field trip to Garvan Woodland Gardens today. There were about a dozen of us in all that braved the cold, wind, and crowds to shoot the lighting display. Over 1.7 million lights illuminate the Gardens from 5 to 9PM daily from November 21-December 31, 2009. It truly is a beautiful site to see.
